It goes into more depth, with more training, more scenarios, and more knowledge gained than the recreational course. Certification is valid for 2 years.
We were hoping to organize this course prior to the packraft meet up, so that participants could share the knowledge among the community during the meet up. However these were the only dates available.
Swiftwater Rescue training especially for river runners. The WRT kayak/ Packraft course was developed for kayakers and has been updated to meet the needs of Packrafter’s.
The course aims to improve every paddlers knowledge of the dangers inherent to the whitewater environment and how to avoid them. It also aim’s to improve self rescue skills of every paddler and give them the experience to be able to judge for themselves how serious a rapid is. Group rescue skills are also on the program, with simple, quick, low tech methods being taught first.
